portraits of those remembered

portraits of those remembered

These images were pulled from old home movies — moments I paused on, sometimes by accident, sometimes because something in them stopped me. A glance, a tilt of the head, the way light caught on skin. Most of the people here are from my past. Some I knew well, others only for a moment. A few I can’t quite name anymore, but I remember how they made me feel. I remember their presence.

None of these portraits are perfect. They’re blurred, half-lit, off-center. But that’s what memory is like — partial, fragile, sometimes elusive. What remains isn’t the full picture, but the imprint. A trace. The emotional shape of someone once near.

This book isn’t about recognition. It’s about remembering. About holding onto the pieces that still flicker when the rest fades. These are portraits not of faces, but of feeling.
